Christmas Brunch this week

Hello ladies! We have our Christmas Brunch this week at Crossfield MOPS! Come and enjoy lots of visiting time, lots of great food, and go home with some great gifts! Here are some things you need to remember:

If your last name begins with A through H, please bring a dish to share (main course, salad, or bread/dessert).
If you choose to participate, bring a nice gift (wrapped) that cost less than $10.
Also if you choose to participate, bring a dozen cookies in a bag labelled with the recipe. You can bring as many dozen as you like and go home with the same number of a variety of cookies.
If you've signed up to bring something for our sponsored families' Christmas hampers, remember to bring that as well!
See you on Thursday morning!

Coffee Date Tomorrow & MOPS Thursday

Hello ladies! Another late reminder but we have our coffee date tomorrow night (Tuesday), starting at 7:30pm at Humpty's (east side of Hwy2). Come join us whenever you can! Should be another fun time!

We also have MOPS this week! We'll be making Christmas cards as our Christmas craft. They're really easy and REALLY beautiful. You won't want to miss it.

As well, we'll be collecting any donations towards our caregivers' Christmas gifts. Just a heads up in case you want to contribute a few dollars. This is totally voluntary, please don't feel obligated. Our caregivers are amazing and completely unpaid so we love to show some love to them!

Last thing! If you have any photos taken of our fabulous snacks at MOPS meetings so far this year, please send them to me! Our hospitality ladies are going to help us compile a little booklet of the recipes used and those photos would be wonderful!

Thank you! Hope to see you tomorrow and Thursday!
Mandy

PS
Hi ladies, just a reminder that Thursday is the last day for "Everyday Style" orders. Please arrange to get them to me on or before then. Thanks in advance for your cooperation!

MOPS Fundraiser

Hi Ladies, just wanting to share the link for our fundraiser with 'Everyday Style'. In case you weren't at MOPS this morning, this is an opportunity to raise money for MOPS to help with costs. If you can help out that would be great! We get 30% of the sales so any little bit helps. You can call me or email me your orders and I will arrange to pick up a cheque from you. If you'd prefer a catalogue over looking online just let me know and I will get one to you. Share the site with your family and friends and the top seller will get a prize!

 - deadline for orders is November 28th which is our next MOPS gathering
- if you place an order over $25 make sure you look at the 'bonus buys' and any purchase over $50 you can receive a half price item.
- I purchased a number of things including various dishes and spices and they were all great buys!

Thanks in advance,
Karla Fleming

Hello ladies! Just a reminder of what we've got going on this week!

Tomorrow night (Tuesday) we'll be meeting for our coffee date again at Humpty's (east of Hwy 2) starting at 7:30. Join us whenever you can get away from the kids!

Wednesday morning we have our mini worship service at the church, from 9:15-9:45. It's a nice way to start the day and perfect in between playschool drop-off and Story Hour at the library.

Hope to see you then! If not, we have MOPS next week (Nov. 28).

Also, we were happy to have our "Who's Coming For a Coffee and a Playdate" this morning! We'd love to hear how things went! We know of a few ladies who were unable to participate due to sick kids so I'd love to hook you up for next Monday (9:30-11:00). If you're interested in hosting, please email me with your address, phone number & email, and how many kids your house can handle. If you're interested in being a guest, email me your phone & email and how many kids you would be bringing.

Thanks again!

This week: Stay Calm And Ask a Mentor Mom!

Hello ladies! This Thursday at Crossfield MOPS we will be presenting "Stay Calm and Ask a Mentor Mom"! We'll be featuring our fabulous mentor moms in a panel answering all sorts of our best stump-em questions. This promises to be a really great event. Hope to see you there!

This will also be your last chance to sign up for our "Who's Coming for Coffee & a Playdate" event to be held on Monday November 18 at 9:30-11am. If you won't make it to MOPS but would still like to sign up, please email me whether you would like to be a guest or a host, along with your phone number, email addresss, physical address (if hosting), and how many children you can host (or you are bringing). We're a little short on hosts so if you have no preference please sign up to do that! Thank you! If you missed our explaining this event and have questions please let me know!

Worship Service this week

Hello ladies! I want to remind you that even though it's been 2 weeks since the last MOPS, we don't have MOPS this Thursday.  We hold it every second and forth Thursday of the month so we'll be on next week!

This week, however, we do have our short worship service on Wed. morning. Join us from 9:15-9:45 (in between playschool drop-off and the library's story hour!) It's just a nice way to start the day and see some friendly faces too! Hope to see you then! Oh and there will be childcare this time!!

MOPS this week

Hello ladies! I hope you're all doing well! We have Crossfield MOPS this Thursday! We'll be watching a video clip from Kathi Lipp on "Connecting With Your Kids" (she is hilarious) and learning about our different children's personalities and how to work with them. We'll have lots of time to discuss as well as different questionnaires to fill out, and a super easy craft to take home as well. See you then!

Crocktober this week!

Hello ladies!! It's here, Crocktober!! This Thursday, come for MOPS as usual, and go home with an assembled meal ready to cook!

What you need to bring:
Your crockpot (or a large freezer bag)
A rubber spatula (if you have one. We just need a few per table)
A plastic container that can hold 1 cup of sour cream (we can also use baggies)

That's it! NO knives or cutting boards required this time - we're making it super simple for you!

I want to also make note that we know that this Thursday is picture day for some of the Playschool kids. Don't worry if you're late, just come when you can. We also know that Kindergarten is out on this day so go ahead and bring those kids too!

Thanks! See you Thursday morning!

Some Reminders!

Hello ladies! We do not have MOPS this week but there are a couple other things I need to remind you of!

First, we have our very first MOPS worship service this Wednesday morning from 9:15-9:45am. This is very informal - kids will stay in the room with us (we'll provide colouring materials), we'll participate in some worship music courtesy of our very own Erin Lowe and hear a short encouraging message from Pastor Dave.

Secondly, the next MOPS (Oct. 10) is CROCKTOBER!! This means we all bring our crockpots and we go home with a free, fully assembled meal! But before then, I'm looking for any and all of your fabulous crockpot recipes to include in our hand-out. I'll be printing out all the previous years' recipes as normal but I'd love to have a bunch of new ones. Please email them to me asap but before Tues. Oct. 8.

Thank you!

MOPS this week!

Hello ladies! I hope you're having a good week so far! Here's your friendly reminder that we have MOPS this Thursday - starting at 9:15am but get there a bit early to check your kids in. We'll be hearing about all sorts of local free or cheap kids activities, playing some fun ice-breaker games, working on our centre pieces, and more great stuff!

Regarding the centre pieces - we are bringing one small item from home to glue onto our table's centre piece. If you attended the registration day, you should know what colour you need to bring (if you forget, feel free to email me and I'll look it up for you). If you didn't attend and don't know which table you belong at, don't worry about it. You can bring an item to the next MOPS. This is just a fun way to see how our mess can be beautiful!

A couple of reminders - If your kids are sick, please keep them at home. Remember to bring your baby's personal items in a labelled freezer bag. For the older kids, bring a piece of fruit or some crackers to be shared in their room (there's a basket on the welcome table for those snacks).

As always, if you have any questions, please let me know! See you Thursday!

Coffee Date!

Hello ladies! You have a date this Tuesday evening! Come hang out with us, have a coffee, and chat, sans kids! We'll be at Humpty's (east of the Highway) from 8-9pm (though it's open til 10 so we may not want to go home until then!) We hope to see you there and get to know everyone more! If not, MOPS is next week - the 26th. See you then!

Crossfield MOPS Kick-Off THIS WEEK!!!

Hello ladies!! We are so excited to start up Crossfield MOPS this Thursday!!

First, before MOPS starts, we are looking for business cards from those of you who have your own businesses (just you, not your hubbies). These will be included in a hand-out we'll have for everyone on Thursday. We need 50 cards from everyone who wants to participate. Please contact Lorraine Braun ( braun.lorraine@gmail.com ) and you can bring them to her or she will pick up within Crossfield. If you're unable to get them to her before Wednesday afternoon, feel free to bring them to a future MOPS meeting and place some on each table.

OK, here's what you need to know for Thursday.

1) We start at 9:15am at Crossfield Baptist Church (on the 2A just north of town). Please come a bit early to get your kids settled in the childcare rooms. If you don't know what you're doing, we have greeters at the door to help you out!

2) If your child is 2 or older, please bring a piece of fruit or some crackers to be shared in your child's room.

3) If your child requires personal items (diapers, wipes, bottles etc) please place these items in a freezer bag labelled with their name (make sure you label bottles or sippie cups as well).

4) If your kids are sick, please keep them at home. We want to minimize the spread of germs as much as possible.

5) Bring your chequebook! I'll be taking registrations ($35) as well as childcare deposits. The childcare deposit is a cheque for $20, post dated to May 1, 2014. Once you take your turn in a childcare room (once a year), your cheque will be shredded.

6) Jill will be taking photos of everyone for the directory. This is your heads up to wash your hair and cover up those dark circles. Or come as you are and we'll all know how it is!

I think that's it for now. We have a lot to go over on our first meeting so I hope everyone can make it. It's going to be a fantastic year! See you then!

Our regular MOPS meetings start up on September 12th! I'll send out an email closer to that time with all the info you need. As always, if you have any questions, please let me know!

See you Thursday!

MOPS in the Park AND The Farmer's Market

Hi ladies!  Here's your reminder that we'll be in Banta Park again this Thursday starting at 9:30am (unless it rains!)

Sandra McEvoy and I will also have a table at the Crossfield Farmer's Market on Thursday night to advertise MOPS and sell some leftover books.  Please come say hi to us!  We'll have candy for the kiddies too!

See you soon! Mandy

MOPS in the Park

Hi ladies! We'll be in Banta Park again this Thursday morning starting at 9:30, and every week all summer!  Come join us!  Please note that if it is raining, we won't be there.  If you're not sure if it's still on, you can call or text me at 403-875-7080.  Hope to see you there!  Oh and if it's sunny, bring splash park stuff!  I found myself with very wet kids and no changes of clothes or towels last time!

MOPS in the Park

Hello ladies! We're ba-ack! We couldn't possibly wait until September to meet up with you all again so we've decided to have MOPS in the Park this summer! Nothing formal, just meet up and let our kids play while we chat. Everyone is welcome, bring your older kids as long as they'll be kind to the little ones! Bring friends! We'd love to see some of our graduated moms too!

When: Starting June 27th - Thursday morning, starting at 9:30am, every week (until the end of August)! Just show up when you can and hang out!
Where: Banta Park in Crossfield (the big park by the library - next to the splash park)

Directions for those outside of Crossfield: On HWY 2A, turn into Crossfield onto Limit Ave (by the Shell). The park is right in front of you, left hand side. For parking, take your first left, and then your first right.

Spread the word please! The more the merrier, and this is a great chance for moms to check MOPS out in a very casual, unintimidating way.

ALSO - We are looking for someone who would be interested in providing childcare at our Steering Team meetings starting in September. It would be from 9-11 on 2 Thursdays a month (the off-MOPS weeks). It's a paid position, depending on how many kids show up. It's a great chance for someone to get out of the house, let your own kids play, and make a little extra spending money too. We'd love someone who will commit to every meeting so we don't have to worry about anything! Let me know if you might be interested!

I hope we'll see you next week at the park, and if not, have a super summer!
Mandy
